I have been defending the defense for the most part, during this horror show of a season, but today they have to take the brunt of the criticism. But I would like to point out something. In the previous 5 losses the offense has scored agrand total of 34 points in the second half. A grand total of 17 in the 4th quarter. I know that when a defense gives up the winning score on the last drive of the game or very late in a game it is magnified greatly, but they would of had to have been virtually perfect with how little help they were getting from the offense.

This is only the start, We have 4 starters in the front over thirty and on the down side. We gotta start replacing them this offseason.

The defense has had it's problems but consider the following.

Last season, we made the plays on D, we aren't making this season. When we had the opportunity to make plays we made them. Yesterday, Burnett dropped an easy pic. The next play Ike got out jumped for a ball that last season he would have batted away. That being said, there were some warning signs last season as well, receivers were allowed to run through the secondary, we just got enough pressure on the QB to prevent the big plays.

The D has been horrible, but we aren't putting teams away when we have the chance. 1st and goal at the 19 after a great return and we only get 3. 4th and less than a yard from the raider 5, turnover on downs, pic in the red zone to close out the half. By my count we should have been up 28-6 at the half instead up only 10-6.

Even though the defense has been awful this season, especially in the 4th quarter of some games, this is a total team meltdown. Lack of focus by the players and coaches has contributed to this.

When you let bad teams hang around , bad things happen.
