Default Bye Bye NFL Revenue Sharing.

http://myespn.go.com/s/conversations/show/story/4718965

Jerry Jones is sick and tired of trying to win legitimately for thirteen years and failing, so he's going to try to take the easy way out and buy championships instead.

Goodell: But hey, at least London likes our games!

I gotta say this is completely tied to the uncapped year. . . its a ruse to get the NFLPA to the bargaining table and willing to bargain more.

Thus ending all competitive balance in the NFL and the league regressing to the MLB.

Bunch of idiots. But at the same time this could be a blessing in the long run. Hear me out before you shoot the messenger.

If this goes through, it would eventually require teams to collapse, in turn reducing the league back to it's original roots (post merger). The talent pool would increase, thus also eliminating the so-called parity the NFL anticipated when it began to increase the number of teams. Dynasty's would once again begin to exist, and seeing as how many players have commented about the Steelers organization and how it's run, chances are that the Steelers would be able to continue to build thorugh the draft and maintain their level of winning. The league would possibly could turn in to a show me the trophies league - instead of the show me the money league it is today.

That's just my thoughts!

Yep, I agree. This is all about negotiating for the new CBA with the NFLPA. The union wants revenue sharing in place because without it, a lot of their players are going to make less than they are now.

Also, the title is a bit misleading. All 32 teams still equally share share television and apparel revenue. This is an extra $100 million that got redistributed to the bottom nine teams (like Jacksonville.) In other words the top teams will have another $4-$5 million on their bottom line, and the bottom teams lose about $10 million. It's going to hurt teams like Jacksonville a lot more than it will help teams like the Cowboys or Redskins.

Revenue sharing is still in place, and I seriously doubt it will go away.

I can't see it happening either...the owners will get to vote, and I think they need like 75% (or 24 votes) to change this policy...there aren't 24 teams that will benefit from revenue sharing going away...

Revenue sharing means exactly dick in terms of on-the-field parity. It's the salary cap that does that.

This part of revenue sharing just helps ensure that every franchise including the bottom-feeders has a built-in profit every year. That's all.
