here is the first half...
1. Alex Smith QB Utah - 49ers - threw for 875 yards, 1 TD/11 INT and a 40 QB rating in 9 games. I would say the jury is still out on Smith, plays on an absolute horrid team and battled injury problems all year. 2. Ronnie Brown RB Auburn - Dolphins - Ran for 907 yards and 4 TD on 207 attempts (4.4 avg). Looks good, good enough for the Dolphins to shop Williams. Like to see him be the primary back, he looks like he could put up some even bigger numbers. 3. Braylon Edwards WR Michigan - Browns - Caught 33 balls for 512 yards and 3 TDs in 10 games. Another year, another high profile Browns draft pick gets hurt. Whats new... 4. Cedric Benson RB Texas - Chicago - Only 272 yards on 67 attempts. His hold out really hurt him as he never took the starting job all year. Only time will tell if he can ever gain the starting job from Jones 5. Carnell Williams RB Auburn - Tampa Bay - Ran for 1178 and 6 TD's on 290 attempts (4.1 avg). Obviously the best RB of the draft last year, missed two games from over use early. Still put up big yards. Finally the RB Tampa had been looking for... 6. Adam Jones CB West Virginia ? Tennessee ? Had 53 tackles and 11 PD, 0 INT but also had some well publicized problems with not putting in the effort and some off the field issues in a night club? Possible bust??? 7. Troy Williamson WR South Carolina ? Minnesota ? Only 24 catches for 372 yards and 2 TDs. Touted as a replacement for Moss and didn?t live up to the hype? 8. Antrel Rolle CB Miami(FL) ? Arizona ? 28 tackles and 1 INT but only played 5 games after suffering from injury problems 9. Carlos Rogers CB Auburn ? Washington ? 43 tackles and 2 INT in 10 games? So so, jury still out on him? 10. Mike Williams WR USC ? Detroit ? 29 catches for 350 yards and a TD. Its Detroit, who wants to bet they take another WR this year?? Who knows if Williams will ever fit into that joke of an offense known as Detroit. 11. Demarcus Ware DE Troy St. ? Dallas ? 58 tackles 8 sacks and 3 forced fumbles? Can you say BEAST?? 12. Shawne Merriman OLB Maryland - San Diego ? 54 tackles 10 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, DROY need I say more? 13. Jammal Brown OT Oklahoma - New Orleans ? Listed as active for 13 games but listed as not playing in any of them 14. Thomas Davis S Georgia ? Carolina ? 28 tackles 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble, injuries forced Carolina to move him to LB 15. Derrick Johnson OLB Texas - Kansas City ? 95 tackles and 2 sacks, played very well and didn?t get much publicity 16. Travis Johnson DT Florida St. ? Houston ? 26 tackles and a sack. Hard to really judge a DT from stats but lets put it this way the Texans were last in rushing D |

I'll play along:
1. Alex Smith QB Utah - 49ers - Never liked this pick, but could be wrong 2. Ronnie Brown RB Auburn - Dolphins - Will be solid, maybe great 3. Braylon Edwards WR Michigan - Browns - I think the Frye to Edwards combo will be a great one in a year or two 4. Cedric Benson RB Texas - Chicago - Chicago needs some kind of passing game for him to stand out (and I think he can and will). Rex Grossman is NOT the answer, nor is ARE. 5. I agree completely 6. Adam Jones CB West Virginia – PacMan will be the man...Tenn is high on him and he's learning. Holding out hurt him, and he needs off-field guidance... 7. Troy Williamson WR South Carolina – Minnesota – He wasn't NFL ready, but will be this year... 8. Antrel Rolle CB Miami(FL) – Arizona – Arizona...'nuff said. Give him time. 9. Carlos Rogers CB Auburn – Washington – 43 tackles and 2 INT in 10 games… So so, jury still out on him… Agree 10. Mike Williams WR USC – Detroit – 29 catches for 350 yards and a TD. Its Detroit, who wants to bet they take another WR this year?? Who knows if Williams will ever fit into that joke of an offense known as Detroit. A real talent, but had a year off and plays for Detroit. 11. Demarcus Ware DE Troy St. – Dallas – 58 tackles 8 sacks and 3 forced fumbles… Can you say BEAST?? I had this guy as my "Best player taken" in the 2005 draft...unfortunately, he'll end up as the second best behind... 12. Shawne Merriman OLB Maryland - San Diego – 54 tackles 10 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, DROY need I say more? 13. Jammal Brown OT Oklahoma - New Orleans – Possible bust, but will get time soon...I think NO has the oldest line in the NFL 14. Thomas Davis S Georgia – Carolina – Early...we'll see 15. Derrick Johnson OLB Texas - Kansas City – Played well on a defensively starved team. Nice pick 16. Travis Johnson DT Florida St. – Houston – 26 tackles and a sack. Hard to really judge a DT from stats but lets put it this way the Texans were last in rushing D Amen. |
