They started strong last season too - they were 11-7 at one point last April, in fact. They would win just 51 more games the rest of the season.

Sorry, but I'm not buying it. If the Bucs are somewhere around .500 in August, then maybe I might believe a teeny, tiny bit that they may break the streak. Until then, I'm predicting and expecting the worst.

Nutting does not want to win. Period. The more fans realize that and set their expectations accordingly, the better off they will be.

And that is true, but the team does want to win and as long as they play to win and go out every game and do their best that's all we can ask for while Nutting is ruling his kingdom.
At least it's early in the season and us fans can have some kind of hope. Ive waited 13 years without seeing anything, but I still believe.

I want to see McCutchen go out and have a big night while Lasting Miledge makes a big outfield play.

there is actually a reason for us to be excited later in the season, with Brad Lincoln and Pedro Alvarez set to make there debut later on

Alvarez is gold IMO. I think he will be the start for turning this team around!

Actually, they can bring Alvarez up in May and still keep the extra year of arbitration. Will they do it? Nah. If it were up to me, he'd be on the team right now, but God forbid Bob Nutting risk paying him big bucks a year earlier. At least he'd have been able to trade him a year earlier, so he definitely should have brought him up now.

lol, that post was 6,666 for ya. maybe it puts a curse on Nutting and someone has to step in for him!

Who else thinks Doumit is the one to be traded this season? I wouldnt have a problem with it as long as Sanchez continues to play well in the minors.

He is 29 and dont see him being part of the pirates future. Especially if he continues to hit well , I'm sure a few teams will start to target him and based on last year's trades I'm sure we can get something "good" in return.
