Discount carrier Spirit Airlines announced Tuesday that it would charge passengers for carry-on luggage stowed in overhead bins. European low-cost airline Ryanair has generated buzz with an article in its in-flight magazine outlining a toilet fee on flights of an hour or less, a proposal introduced last year that many industry watchers considered a clever public relations stunt. "There are basic necessities that are expected on flights -- air to breathe, a seat and a rest room. I think it's ridiculous to charge passengers to use the toilet," one CNN.com user wrote. Although major American carriers are unlikely to charge for admission to the restroom, airlines will continue to push the fee envelope, said Michael Boyd of Boyd Group International, a Colorado-based aviation consulting firm. They're very creative. They're like squirrels. They'll get to the bird feeder somehow

Landlord climbs onto roof, pours water on tenant April 06, 2010 FORT WALTON BEACH — A 46-year-old man was arrested March 26 on charges of battery. Deputies arrived at an apartment complex to find a man "soaking wet from head to toe," according to an Okaloosa County Sheriff's report. The man explained that he and his landlord had been on "bad terms." He said the landlord climbed up on the roof of his house and poured a bucket of water all over him when he came out. Deputies attempted to talk with the landlord, but his door was locked and a sign that, according to the report, had "obviously just been taped up" read, "I am busy at work, you can call me or my lawyer" was on the door. The deputy knocked on the door several times and after several phone calls, the man came out of his home. When asked what had happened to his tenant, the man said he did not know but it looked like he had been in the shower. |

Sounds like the airlines are trying to get money any way they can.
