The Steelers will surprise this year...or will they?

History has been kind to the Steelers recently coming off a disappointing season.

2003: 6-10 finish. Looked like the Steelers are finished after some success in 2001-02. Lost to Cleveland. Finished third in AFC North. Looked like Cincy and Baltimore would rule the division for years to come. Went 15-1 in 2004 and made the AFC Champsionship game. Won Super Bowl XL in 2005.

2006: 8-8 finish. Looked like the Steelers are finished in 2004-05. Coach was leaving. Lots of holes in the team. Two lopsided losses to the Ravens. Finished third in the North. Look like Cincy and Baltimore would would rule the division for years to come. Went 10-6 and won AFC North in 2007. Won Super Bowl XLIII in 2008.

2009: The latest. 9-7 finish. Once again, looks like the Steelers are finished after success in 2007-08. Lots of holes in the team. Swept by Cincy and lost to Cleveland. Finished third in the North with a 2-4 record vs the division. Once again, looks like Cincy and Baltimore would rule the division for years to come. QB has offseason issues and is suspended.

2010...?

So according to this, superbowl in 2011?

I predict a 11-5 season with a sweep of Cleveland and a split (1-1) with Baltimore and Cincinatti for 2010, AFC North division champs...

Depends on how we weather the storm with Ben being out.

I hate every time they bring up the Steelers season (e: in the draft), 7th ranked Offense, 5th ranked Defense, blargh. Seems so much different than reality.

That being said . . I think the Steelers if they can come out of the 4 game suspension at .500 or even 2-4 I think we will be fine. Ben coming back will boost them up and I really think that things are looking up for this team right now. With the offseason additions and our draft, which I love so far, and the return of DE Aaron Smith and S Troy Polomalu I think this defense is gonna be revived not to mention that Bryant McFadden is gonna be back in a Steelers uniform in '10.
So, No it will be No Suprise to me if the Steelers put up no.7 Lombardi Trophy in the case in 2010.

I predict Dixon goes 6-0 with some stellar performances and displays a demention of mobility that has not been around since he who I will not name. He will prove he has as good an arm as Ben and a QB controversy will ensue. Due to Ben showing he has the IQ of a one celled Amoeba Dixon will become the golden child for Pittsburgh and the Rooney's favorite son.

Just me looking into that silly crystal ball.
