Dixon to start week 2; Leftwich back at practice

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that QB Dennis Dixon would make another start for the team in Week 2.

Injured veteran QB Byron Leftwich will return to action as early as Wednesday, however.

"(He) appears to be doing a little better with his knee sprain," Tomlin said. "We are going to give him some work in a limited capacity probably tomorrow and see where we go from there."

Dixon helped the Steelers to a 15-10 overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He was 18-for-26 for 236 yards with an INT.

Tomlin also said that LT Max Starks has a low-ankle sprain, and is uncertain to play on Sunday at Tennessee.

"I saw him this morning, he appears to be doing better," Tomlin said. "He might be able to do something the latter part of the week and make himself available to us in this football game."

If Starks can't play, Jonathan Scott will start for him.
