Indy Car Driver Dies

Did anybody see this crash? Unbelievable. After watching the crash, I'm surprised that both drivers were not killed. While I'm not a fan of racing, I find it impossible not to respect what these guys do for a living. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Dana family.

I just heard the news on ESPN, too. I saw the crash on television. It was so horrible.

Danica Patrick just missed it herself. The other two teams of Rahal-Letterman Racing have withdrawn from today's race.

i just saw this on speed channel. hardcore. it was in the morning practice, and sadly the show will go on. i never heard of this dude but it sucks all the same. while the wrecks can be exciting, you never wanna se a competitor die. rip and kudos to the sanctionning bodies to ensure these cars are as safe as they are.

it was just reported that his teammates buddy rice and danica patrick have pulled out of todays race out of respect. i think thats a good move.

RIP :( That was a horrific crash. They need to slow those cars down a bit. At least down around NASCAR's speed.

I know they say that these cars are safer than they've ever been, but there's no way those little open wheel cars can be safe running over 220 MPH.

This goes back to what Suit said, they need to drop the speed on those cars. As I stated, I don't watch racing and I don't know much about the sport, but those Indy cars do not look very safe. Your basically driving a kazoo with wheels over 200 mph. Not safe.
