Steelers Roethlisberger practices with limp
By John Harris
Saturday, December 4, 2010
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, still limping noticeably, practiced for the third consecutive day and appears to be on schedule to start Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens.
Coach Mike Tomlin said Roethlisberger suffered a sprained right foot in the Steelers' 19-16 overtime win over Buffalo. A team spokesman said Roethlisberger reaggravated scar tissue from an old injury, refuting a report that Roethlisberger has a broken foot.
Roethlisberger and Tomlin were not made available to discuss Roethlisberger's playing status following Friday's practice.
Backup quarterback Byron Leftwich would start if Roethlisberger is unable to play.
