Default 1 timeout left

why didn't ben use it instead of spiking the ball and wasting 15 seconds ? 23 seconds would have been enough time to use all 4 downs if need be.
in the first half he burned a TO on a 5 yd pass , but chooses to waste 15 precious seconds on the last drive ? at the 10 ? geesh

I could have sworn we were out of time-outs. That's not what the GameCenter says, though.

Anyone?

Watching the replay on NFL Rewind - Steelers were out of timeouts when they got to the 10 yard line

Last time out was used after the sack fumble for a 15 yard loss (play #7 on the chart)

Ok, that makes sense...I thought I remembered them using it around that time too. Wonder why it doesn't show up on the gamecenter chart??

They had no more TO's by the time they got down near the 10 yard line.

I remember thinking (when they had just :09 seconds left) what I wouldn't give for either ten more seconds or one timeout because in either case they could have tried a running play. Without a run option and no timeouts, the Jets could basically drop ten guys into coverage if they wanted to.

Oh well, **** happens!

alot of message board posters have praised arians and ben for that last drive. i somewhat value the opinions of experts and analysists who have actually coached in the league more.

why in the hell did the steelers waste almost 10 seconds subbing in randle el for the spike play? if they wanted him in the game he coulda been inserted AFTER the ball was spiked and the clock was stopped.

Why in the hell, when it is the 2 minute drill, were the steelers subing in diferent personnel. and repeatedly shifting 2 wr's from one side to the other?

atleast 3-4 snaps were completely wasted. i guess with ben missing the first 4 games they still dont think hes ready to take over the no-huddle hurry up office. maybe he's still finding his groove with his wr's.

or maybe arians will no longer hand over the reigns like he used to because he has been ordered to runn the ball more..... effectively.

either way it was a complete meltdown from the sideline. that situation is very simple and has been proven time and time again.

you go 11 personnel (1rb/1te/3wr) and let ben work his magic.

i was watching the colt game , which manning ran the no huddle most of the game. they commented on how he gets the snap off with 20 + seconds still left .

is it coincedence that most plays following a timeout fail ?

Is that you Ed Bouchette?

Bouchette goes off at length in PG+ on your observations regarding how screwed up the substitutions were on that last drive
