this is a great race. side by side racing all the way. the announcers in the booth keep reminding the drivers that this is not daytona. s. kinser just flipped. makes me wonder about the 'car of tommorow" and definitely makes me anticipate sundays race.
(note these iroc cars are going about 162 mph while the nascar cup cars will be going about 185-86) |

I heard a rumor that since Lowe's was repaved, NASCAR is seriously considering mandating restrictor plates for any Cup races at the track.

they said maybe 197 mph qualifying speed!!!!!! for those who dont follow nascar thats probably 208-10 down the straight parts of the track.
insane. unfortunately could just lead to one giant 600 mile follow the leader race. while the end to the iroc race was 4 cars in line, everything up to that point was great racing. the 20 mph difference between cup and iroc cars wasnt very noticeable with all the passing going on as far as watching it on tv was concerned.. |
