1st Round Mock Draft
1. Carolina Panthers - Andrew Luck, QB
Carolina is in a rebuilding phase. Clausen just didn't cut it and Carolina does not pass up this top prospect.
2. Denver Broncos - Patrick Peterson, CB
It looks as if Champ Bailey will be out in Denver. If he is the Broncos need another cornerback to help their team.
3. Buffalo Bills - AJ Green, WR
Lee Evans, of the injured reserve, started to play better down the stretch until he got hurt. Evans is due a large sum of money next year, which may lead to the Bills cutting him. Green is a great WR that could help almost any team.
4. Cincinnati Bengals - Da'Quan Bowers, DE
Cincinnati wants Green, but Buffalo picks him up first. Since their first choice is out, the Bengals look for help on defense. Their cornerbacks will return healthy next season which leaves d-line help.
5. Arizona Cardinals - Robert Quinn, OLB
Arizona needs help rushing the passer. While their QB situation is in jeopardy, Whisenhunt will probably bring in a veteran QB and let his rookie Skelton develop. Quinn is one of the best pass rushers.
6. Cleveland Browns - Nick Fairley, DE/DT
A large and dominate pass rusher. Putting him on the line next to Shaun Rodgers would wreak havoc on opponents' run game. While Cleveland needs a star wideout for Colt McCoy, they can't pass on Fairley.
7. San Fransisco 49er's - Cam Newton
San Fransisco falls for the hype. I believe that Cam Newton is an excellent collegiate athlete, but not so great as an NFL QB. Vince Young is the same type of player he is and while moderately successful, is still out of a job in Tennessee. Anyways, here he is taken.
8. Tennessee Titans - Marcell Dareus, DT/DE
Jeff Fisher is not the type to start a rookie QB, so he will want to find a veteran that can start or back up Kerry Collins. That being said, the Titans weren't the same this year without Albert Haynesworth, the big man up front. Dareus can be that guy and has been dominant with Alabama. Titans get a good pick up, even if they resign Haynesworth.
9. Dallas Cowboys - Prince Amukamara, CB
Amukamara falls this far because of how the draft shapes up, not because of lack of talent. In fact a team may trade up higher to get him. Amukamara could be a dominant corner, and was the top cornerback coming into this season before Patrick Peterson supplanted him. Steal here and a need for Dallas.
10. Washington Redskins - Ryan Mallet, QB
It seems like McNabb will be out of Washington as well. With that, their biggest need will be quarterback because Rex Grossman is not a starter. Mallet is pro ready and has a good arm.
11. Houston Texans - Von Miller, OLB
With Wade Phillips agreeing to coach the defense, the Texans will most likely switch to a 3-4 scheme. They will need an outside linebacker to do it and Von Miller, who was injured early on, is a great player who stays in Texas.
12. Minnesota Vikings - Jake Locker, QB
The Vikes also need help at the position. Tavaris Jackson has proven he can't get it done, but Joe Webb will get his shot. Locker is brought in for competition and grooming. He may not start immediately, but he will start.
13. Detroit Lions - Janoris Jenkins, CB
Wow Detroit is picking AFTER the Minnesota Vikings? Had to get that out. Anyways their largest need is cornerback and they take one here.
14. St. Louis Rams - Justin Blackmon, WR
Mark Clayton and Avery should be back. However they do not have a number one guy. Clayton proved he wasn't all too reliable in Baltimore and Bradford needs a top target. Blackmon is coming of an outrageous season and can seemingly make every catch.
15. Miami Dolphins - Mark Ingram, RB
Ingram was just dominate in his Heisman trophy year last season and this season had his workload diminished after getting hurt early. Ingram however, is still the top running back available and Miami won't keep both Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.
16. Jacksonville Jaguars - Adrian Clayborn, DE
After taking Tyson Alualu last year in the top 10, they still need help on their defensive line. Clayborn is a proven playmaker.
Will be finishing 17-32 soon and editing it in. Too tired to finish it now. Expect it within a day or two.
