Steelers' Taylor excelling in contract year
http://www.profootballweekly.com/201...-contract-year Posted Jan. 14, 2011 @ 8:18 p.m. ET By Mike Wilkening The Steelers' list of priorities in free agency — whenever that should begin — could very well start with retaining LOLB LaMarr Woodley, who has four years of NFL service and an expiring contract. Another less-heralded but very important defensive starter's contract is also up: Ike Taylor, the club's top cornerback and someone who has had his finest NFL season, the way we hear it. The 6-2, 195-pound Taylor is fast and physical, and he matches up well with bigger receivers. Moreover, he has been a very good fit in Dick LeBeau's defense. Taylor, who will be 31 in May and has eight years of NFL experience, could be part of an absolutely loaded free-agent CB class that may also include the Raiders' Nnamdi Asomugha (eight years of service), the Broncos' Champ Bailey (12 years), the Jets' Antonio Cromartie (five years), the Redskins' DeAngelo Hall (seven years) and the Bengals' Johnathan Joseph (five years). |
