where was the 'hurry up' offense?

We usually have good success with this.
I understand we wanted to run some off the clock, but we scored ZERO points in the 2nd half and could have really used another score.
We did long snap counts allowing the Jets D to have good looks at our formations. I would have like to see a few "hurry up" plays

But running out the clock was THE WHOLE POINT.

Runs and even sacks accomplish that. Hurry-up offenses defeat the purpose and often lead to quick mistakes.

Sometimes doing the correct thing is basically boring, but it gets the job done.

Frozen, lol....They can run clock in the hurry up. Change up some fake plays have people standing at the line etc. Be creative to keep the def on the field. You say the same crap in the huddle that you do at the line. By now they should know the plays..lol

Also have to consider how Ben's voice was doing. He did battle laryngitis that week after all.

You answered your own question.

We had a large lead. The last thing you want to do is starting hurrying up. we needed to chew time off that clock. If we ran the hurry up and failed, Arians would have been dragged out into the streets and beaten.

Granted there were issues with the playcalling in the 2nd half. All we really needed was a FG in the 2nd half and the game would have been out of reach. We couldn't muster that up, and we had nothing to response to the Jets adjustments. Also loosing Pouncey did not help as it resulted in a safety and another fumble.

I fully expect a hurry up in the SB though. If we can catch the Packers with the wrong personnel on defense we will score easily. They can't match up with our WR speed. I think it will also expose their run defense. I think a hurry up offense would expose them to some big runs by Mendy.
