Obviously injury is unavoidable, but there needs some limitations. I think players base salaries shouldn't be more than a couple million, but the rest of their contracts should be in bonuses. Playing so well, and if they don't meet up to those standards they don't get a full check. At any real job, if you don't work up to the standards you wouldn't get a bonus or raise, why are players so special that they could litterally not dress a single game during the NFL season because of poor play and still make their full salary.

NFL wants a pay cut in players, players union want the minimum wage of players high.

Whats rediculous is players are telling the players union to forget about the pay issues. Players can live with a pay cut. If you raise minimum wage a bit, sure it will help rookies out, but veterans can handle themselves, they are grown men. But the players union wont let it go and if Peyton Manning doesn't get so much money, even if he requests a pay cut, they will shut down the CBA talk.
And its sad because if you know Peyton Manning, you know he loves the Colts and would love nothing more than to have a pay cut.

In Baseball and Basketball the entire contract is guaranteed. I don't feel sorry for teams. If they want they can just release a player and not pay him yet a player can't decide he want to play for a different team and leave. This is why players have to get a high signing bonus to try to convince the team not to cut them because of the cap hit. It is so silly. If contracts were guaranteed, players might be willing to take a little less and have smaller signing bonuses.

I think there should be a
-Rookie salary structure
-Cap on maximum salary (like the NBA does) and I think it should be around 9 million. The players making that much can make more money from endorsements.

I don't like the pay based on production. That's fine for bonuses but you want players doing what they can for the team, not worried about getting injured and losing bonus money of focusing on bonus money stats.
