With that kind of first comment from an agent, he we go.......doesn't look good.
Agents can look out for the good of players but they can also be a supreme pain in the a** (usually). Once they're almost exclusively involved, forget it...
Also, Ike himself : "stuff happens".
Bye.

It's a business and you are not going to compromise your negotiting position by saying you will take whatever the Steelers will offer since you know they will be "fair."

IMO it actually is harder to retain a player by anticipating the player will trade off maxing out on a new contract with whatever bottom feeder team will pay the most against a chance to get to the Super Bowl once the player has won a ring - after achieving that goal some Steelers players greater than Taylor have gone for the $$$ and been a lot more disruptive about wanting to get paid while they were still with teh Steelers than Taylor has been (e.g. - Alan Faneca and Joey Porter)

Don't make so many assumptions. The Steelers have a system for how they draft and you can't think that they are going to disrupt that system to ensure Lebeau is happy. And don't think Lebeau is the type of guy who is going to make demands. He understands the larger picture and he knows how he fits into the scheme of the Steelers draft strategy. Not sure we know if he does or does not "lobby" for players prior to or during the draft. I've never heard reports that any assistant coach lobbies for players unless that player is actually drafted.
