I have been a Steelers fan long enough to know who WE all want usually won't be the pick. The Steelers evaluate everybody and take somebody we all "like" but don't LOVE at the time. Last year most of us didn't want Pouncey but look how wrong we all were.
WIth that all being said I am curious who we are looking at this year in the first couple of rounds. We all know what the Steelers "need" positions are in no particular order OT OG DL CB SS FS My guess for the first two rounds are this: 1st round - Mike Pouncey or Brandon Harris 2nd round - Ras I Dowling or Titus Young I don't think the Steelers NEED a WR with Wallace, Sanders, Brown, Ward, El, Sweed but I think this is Wards last year and they may just cut El and Sweed. Titus is smaller but a blazer who will go over the middle. Outside with Wallace and Young with a inside of Sanders and Brown might just be to much for any team to handle. What's your guess for rounds 1 and 2

Round 1 Jimmy Smith or Mike Pouncey
Round 2 Marcus Cannon or Ras I Dowling But I have a feeling if we target the first rounders I have chosen, it will come at the cost of giving up the second round pick. |

With Willie Colon set to be on the way out, we have to really push hard for an offensive lineman, esp right guard/tackle positions. Mike Pouncey sure would look GREAT in Black and Gold right now. If there's ANY indication that he could be just as GOOD as his brother did for us this year, then it's a no brainier and that would prove that Mike Pouncey would be NFL ready, something the Steelers need out of this draft-class with offensive lineman.

Round 1:
Jimmy Smith Aaron Williams Mike Pouncey Stefen Wisniewski Round 2: Marcus Cannon Benjamin Ijlana Ras I Dowling Curtis Brown As somebody above said, wouldn't mind trading up for Peterson or Amukamara...might be costly to move up that far but they are both special talents and could easily be the next Revis/Polamalu/game changing defensive back. Peterson's unlikely but Amukamara could fall out of the top ten in which case I would start strongly considering a trade up. |
