The major benefit of picking last is that we have the best chance of our pick actually signing and getting into camp close to on time.

Sadly, since the NFL won't learn from the NBA, the first Rd draft choice is almost always a holdout until the end of camp, or even worse, which results in both the player and the team suffering.

And the major difficult part is choosing a player still orthy of the first round when you are so close to the 2nd round. Making sure to not over spend or reach for a player.
