I don't understand why we keep talking about him either. Kiper himself said a lot of the hype from all teams is because of how well Pouncey did for us this season. Does anyone remember how crappy he played against Miami (OH) at the start of the season?

He is good but I think there are tons of lineman that will be really good. Danny Watkins of Baylor, John Moffitt of Wisconsin, Stefen Wisniewski of Penn State. Corner is a huge need and we need more defensive lineman to help with MORE pass rush.

I wouldn't waste any picks trading up, maybe trade back and get a few more picks to fill needs.

You think Kemo will be out and Colon will start? Colon has more penalties by himself than any two other players on our line combined the last two years. Colon is a TERRIBLE lineman.

Besides, we will not go grab him. With this draft there will be pick for pick trades only and we only have seven. Don't think its gonna happen. There are too many lineman that we could take in the first two rounds.

I agree hes not as good as Maurkice, but I think a major point that's being thrown out the window here is the fact he'd be playing with his brother. By himself, no he's not on the same level, but chemistry is HUGE, HUGE on the Oline, and playing next to his twin would be an intangible factor that could literally take his play from "good" to "elite." Besides, guard next to Maurkice was where he played his entire Florida career before this season and what elevated the twins to such a high status, being thrown in at center without his brother by his side was a huge change and noone should be surprised by his decline in play this past season. I honestly think he'd play at a Pro-Bowl level for us, but not for anybody else.

And Im guessing youre a Kemo fan from your sig, he's definitely serviceable but Colon would be a HUGE improvement over him at guard and I don't really see how anyone can legitimately argue otherwise...

i dont want us to trade up, i'd rather stay put or trade back , it sucks with the draft over multiple days taht they wouldnt be picking until tomorrow,


hopefully one of those qbs is there that someone wants, and we get trade back and get some future picks, maybe a 1 next year, and then a 2 this year

and with both picks this year we take

a cb, and line men

and can still build for the future, last year the pats got a first or 2nd not sure but it was for a 3rd round pick, i gotta believe we need to start doing that to get younger

I don't pretend to have all the answers, but I __KNOW__
I have some of them. I am not one of these empty suits who
genuflects at NFL personnel and assume all their decisions
must be wiser than the way I see it. All to often, those who are
empty suits working for others end up feeling that they can't
know as much as the "official" people know and that is a sad,
losing way to live. Then again, some really don't have the organic
vision to have more accurate vision than others, so they are
where they should be.

The Steelers are a fantastic, well-run franchise. But does that
mean they are all-knowing and don't make errors? F no. Trying
to run a team without ANY full backs and then using flunkie
back up TEs as the lead blockers instead is a moronic way

Looking at the top 10-15 likely players to go that high, there are only a
few that I feel are any more likely to excel than players sloted to be taken
in the 2nd, 3rd or even 4th. I don't like any of the QBs that will be taken in the
top 10, as far as being any more likely to succeed than the 2nd tier guys.

Only Peterson, Von Miller and Dareus - and maybe AJ Green - are worthy
of taking, with confidence, in the top 10. The others are still great players
but not so heads and shoulders above the guys high up in their positions.
How safe and iron clad is Cam Newton? Not much more a safe pick
than Demarcus Russel, in my opinion. Or Ryan Leaf. And yet Cam might
go #1 over all.

Look at much of the Pgh's starting roster. Not many were top
10 picks. Almost none.

Keisel, Harrison, Aaron Smith, Woodley, Ike, Ward, Wallace, et al.
