I thought the same thing about Ike up until the draft reports stating everyone involved was confident that he'll be a Steeler. We'll see. Anyways, I should have added that Ike Taylor helped Pittsburgh out with reconstructing his contract so while money plays into this, it's a very different situation than what you're suggesting with Faneca and Porter. Or not. But then again I guess, as we've learned, everything comes back to mantra of "the NFL is still business". Money. Anyways, I guess I'm just talking semantics (as far as leaving for benjamins/cut) here (and in my previous post[s]). So, I'll just shut the f.uck up.

The difference between Faneca/Porter and Taylor is that the other guys were considered to be the best in the game. Taylor doesn't get the respect/attention those guys got. For that reason, I don't see anyone giving Ike the big dollars (even though I think he is as good as they get).

I always stick with the Steelers when they make these decisions. It will not surprise me if James Harrison is in his last season with the Steelers. Would seem stupid to part with someone of his ability. But, if they cut him before 2012, they either think Worilds is ready, James has lost a step, or a lot of his stats are generated through the system he plays in. I tend to think it will happen and it will be for all 3 reasons. |
