I believe in molding the Steelers exactly the way we have been molded since Cowher and i believe Randall Cobb is as close of a replacement as you can get for Hines Ward. I really hope the Steelers take a long hard look at getting Cobb in the 2nd or 3rd round. We are going to need that same type of player in the next couple years when Hines retires. And he has a great work ethic and you cannot find a better person. Randall Cobb would be a great pick and hopefully he is on the radar.

Someone posted a video of Sanders in college, he actually blocks very well and plays hard...
No reason to waste a pick on Cobb. |

I hate to hear that news as he is a big time player. But i guess if we have no need then we have no need. I was thinking of him as a replacement for Hines but i guess we worry about that when that time comes.

We found two young WRs in this years draft that show great potential and are already contributing. I'm sure Cobb is a good player but we're set at WR for a while. Unless he falls to the late rounds I doubt the Steelers draft him. Too many other needs, particularly the lines on both sides of the ball.

The only reason i bring it up is because i want a Hines Ward clone and this guy is it. But hey if there isn't a need then i understand and certainly in the NFL draft picks are gold but damn the guy would do exactly what Hines has done for us which will be so hard to find. Hines is just a different type of receiver and this is exactly what Cobb is and im going to miss what Hines gave us when he leaves and that won't be replaced by a regular receiver. It takes a certain guy to be a Hines Ward clone and i have seen enough of Cobb to know he is that guy and would fit the Steelers mold.

Hines is going to the HOF and is truly a unique player. One can't assume that any player coming out of college would be able to match the physical style and intensity he brings to that position. We haven't seen a guy like him before and it's my guess that we won't see it again, at least not anytime soon.
Again, that's not a knock on Cobb or on your idea of drafting him, just the reality of things. We'll have been lucky to have gotten to watch Hines' career and have him on our team when that career ends. You don't replace a guy that, you learn to win without him.

Tonight in his first game is the reason why i wanted Cobb to replace Ward eventually. But if you don't have a need i guess you don't have a need.
Anyways GO STEELERS and look forward to talking some football this year with you guys. I joined last year late and really love this place.
