How can the holder spike the ball if it was a bad snap? They would spend all the time trying to get control of the ball.

Also, i think it was fourth down so spiking the ball would have given the ball over on downs.

This was a dumb answer by Tomlin and none of the reporters caught it. I knew the minute i heard it that it made no sense. We should have called the ttime out with one sec left. Someone panicked.

You are right. I just remember Ben diving to the left but forgot about Redman making the first.

In any case, 8 sec and no time out. You are figuring a bobbled snap, somehow controlled by the snapper and then spiked all before a defender gets there. And the defenders will be extremely aggressive as this is the ball game.

Again, Tomlin must have assumed he had another time out.
