REALLY!!!! ![]() F U C K Y O U Goodell Steelers linebacker James Farrior was fined $15,000 by the NFL for a hit Sunday night on Indianapolis quarterback Kerry Collins. Farrior hit Collins after he released the ball, but he was not penalized during the game. Collins later left the game with concussion symptoms and was replaced by backup Curtis Painter. Farrior said he had been expecting to hear from the league, but thought he had escaped a fine when he didn't receive any news by Thursday. Farrior was informed of the fine as he walked off the practice field this afternoon. Farrior does not believe the hit warranted a fine. "I don't think so, but the league saw it necessary to put the fine out there, so we just have to go with it," he said. Farrior's agent, Ralph Cindrich, said Farrior will appeal the fine. Farrior believes the league acted because Collins left the game with concussion symptoms. The league has been trying to come down hard on hits to the head and late hits that can result in head injuries. "No doubt about it," Farrior said. "With everything that's going on now, I think that's what happened." Ray Fittipaldo: rfittipaldo@post-gazette.com or 412-263-1230 Read more: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/11273...#ixzz1ZTFBvYkt

THIS JUST IN: FARRIOR FINE RETRACTED
After slapping Pittsburgh Steelers Linebacker James Farrior with a $15,000 fine for a hit on Colts Quarterback Kerry Collins, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has decided to retract the fine. "I overreacted when I heard there was a hit on the Colts' starting quarterback," Goodell told ESPAM's Adam Scheisser . "It was only afterward that I informed that it wasn't a hit on Peyton Manning." When asked how Goodell, as NFL commissioner, could be unaware that one of the league's most prolific players has not played a single game this season, he responded: "Are you kidding me? You actually think I watch the games?" The Steelers are not off the hook, however. Goodell announced that he would instead be fining James Harrison $150,000 for a hit on Colts' Backup QB Curtis Painter that occurred in the fourth quarter. Although the hit was not late and in fact occured while Painter still had the ball, Goodell said the fine is justified. "I need to put a down payment on a condo," said the Commissioner. |

Every hard hit is a penalty and/or fine. Time for a new league or a total new football gane. This game has already been ruined by goodell, kids at the local high school here play with more intensity then players in the nfl now. One of the few people that I actually hope gets hit by a bus.
