We will see the ravens in the playoffs

Oh the sweep for sure was dominant...even if the week 1 game were close like this one it still would have been dominant. With these two teams, anytime you can beat the other twice is dominance in my opinion.

Hope to see them down the stretch in the playoffs...but the Steelers have got to wash this game out of their memory for now and focus on the road ahead. I won't count them out of the playoffs by any means though.

Honest question though that I haven't directed towards a Ravens fan yet...the Gatorade bath. ??? I get the significance of the win...but still. I don't think I would have been ok with the players giving Tomlin or anyone a Gatorade bath last week just because we finally beat the Patriots again in the regular season. What are some of the fan reactions (if any) on the Ravens side of this? The first thing that came to my mind was when Housh wiped his cleats with the TT in '05 during the regular season. I just think it was a silly thing to do in front of a wounded animal that you might just see again in a knock out fight.

Yeah, that caught me off guard. I think this win is the most important win in the Harbaugh/Flacco era. We lose we are in third place. We win we are in control, for now. We were in the same position last year with you guys in our backyard and blew it. To answer your question, I didn't see anything wrong with it. It just showed how much the win meant to them. It had nothing to do with showing up the Steelers.

No, I know...but those kinds of celebrations are typically reserved for when you win a huge playoff game, or the SB, not midseason celebrations.

I know for a lot of Steeler fans this game was not as important to them as it was to us. The gator bath showed just how much it meant to the Ravens. It was like a huge playoff win.

My thoughts on this game:

1) Once again a Steeler/Raven game goes down to the wire. The game was playing out like a script I had seen far too many times. You know, the one where the Ravens get the lead and cough it away in the second half? This time, we were able to escape with a win. I still can't believe Flacco orchestrated that drive.

2) With so many AFC teams losing, this was a huge win for either team.

3) James Harrison is a monster.

4) The Ravens pass rush was non-existent last night. Despite you all losing, I'd be very encouraged by the play of your o-line. Not a lot of pressure and very few holding calls.

See you in the playoffs.

Maybe it had something to do with the fact that it was a game they won on a last second drive that required moving the length of the field? That's obviously going to be an exciting moment. The fact that it was against the Steelers, whom they have blown leads to in past games late in the contest (sans the comparable heroics of this one), probably factors in to some degree as well; but I'm pretty confident that it was more about what they did than who it was against.

I also think it's pretty safe to say that if they had kept their lead and won by something like 10 points, there wouldn't have been that kind of a reaction. They undoubtedly got caught up in the excitement of the moment.

Unlike your reference to Houshmandzadeh, a Gatorade bath is not an affront to the Steelers. They're reveling in their own accomplishments, not trying to show up the other team.

Yes, I get it was a big deal for them...not trying to take that away. That's why I exampled that I would have thought it equally tacky if the Steelers gave Tomlin a bath after finally beating the Patriots.

Something like that would stick with me were I a player though...intended affront or not. I get you side of it, it was just...odd.
