WTF?

That title makes it seem as if we lost by three touchdowns and were steamrolled by Baltimore when no such thing happened.
Did we play our best on that last drive?

No, not at all.

But we lost by just 3 points and if Woodley was healthy, or if a pass or two was either caught or defended it could have just as easily been a "W" for us. So what's with this "letdown/lasting impact" crap?

We've only played 9 games.
For Chrissake it still in the 60's outside!

Relax!
There's still a long way to go.
Only 9 games.
And we have lost a third of them. Two in the division.

And we've won TWO-thirds of them.

The glass can be either 1/3 empty or 2/3 full

It's all in how you look at it.

Losing a divisional game is always glass half empty the way I look at it.
I went to the Texan game and our O line was horrible. At least O line looked good against Ravens.

Now, we suck, our D is exposed, the Steelers are old (you know Warren Sapp is smiling like a ten year old who just got candy right now), the coaching is terrible, Ben is medicore, TP is overrated, William Gay needs to get cut, Lebeau needs to retire, and much much more.

That is how it has been, and that is how it will always be. We are all prisoners of the moment, especially when it comes to something that we all love and cherish (the Steelers). We love the team when they finally beat the Brady bunch, but want to destroy the team when they lose to Ravens on a last second TD pass. It is what it is.
Did anyone really think there wouldn't be just a little emotional letdown after beating Brady?
The Patsies have always been a special target while the Ratbirds are just someone we play twice every year.

The Patsies and the 'birds back to back was going to be tough ever since the schedule was released.

Put another way, if we lost to Belichick, it's likely we would have killed Ray-Ray & Co., but to be emotionally up for both teams would be tough for anyone, especially given the history and circumstances.

COULD we have won both games?

Yes.

But splitting them isn't all that surprising and frankly, getting the Brady monkey off our backs was more satisfying.

Losing a divisional game is tough and it may end up with us being a wildcard (although it's still way too soon to think about that), but it's not as if we haven't gone that route before.

I see us improving and adapting as we go along and I like what I see.
We haven't peaked yet and I hope we don't until just a couple of weeks before the playoffs because when we DO peak, it's gonna be awesome!
