Default The next Big Ben?

Logan Thomas from Virginia Tech
6'6 245 Has the size of roethlisberger and is also very mobile and physical for a quarterback. Have only seen him play a little, but its his first year as a starter and im sure he will improve. Possibly could be a draft pick for us in a couple years and be our backup and learn from ben before eventually taking over after ben is done. I know ben has alot of years left but it never hurts to have a quality guy on the bench

The time sure is coming to look forward, and at least draft a 'project' QB. I recently saw a mock that had us drafting Jordan Jefferson out of LSU in the later rounds as a project...Similar in size as well, 6-5 225

If I am not mistaken, both Dixon and Batch's contracts expire after this season. It would probably be wise to draft at least one young QB in the later rounds in 2012. There is a lot of talented QB's coming out this year.

As far as Logan Thomas, he converted from a tight end to QB and has shown some promise. But that kinda scares me as well. VT is sold on him so it'll be interesting seeing him develop. He has size, a cannon, and some pretty serious speed.

I go to Virginia Tech so obviously I'm a huge Logan Thomas fan. He started off slow in his first year this year but really picked it up about halfway through the season and showed he can be a great QB. I if I could compare him I'd say he's somewhere between a Ben and a Cam Newton- he has running and mobility skills similar to Newton, but he's not as fast, and is more inclined to pass first rather than take off running; he also has more power in his running game than Newton and looks more like Ben in the pocket, shrugging off defenders.

Right now not a lot of people know him but I expect him to play through his senior season (he's currently a RS sophomore). His game isn't totally there yet (again, this was his first year as a QB) but he definitely has first round pick potential. If he shows over the next two years that he's NFL-ready, I'd love to see us draft him as Ben's replacement.
