Everyone sings his praises when he has a few weeks in a row where he doesn't cost us major losses. I guess that makes him a hero. FYI, Ike isn't so hot either. he just happens to be the best. All that said, is till wouldn't draft a CB in round one. I think we have young guys already on the roster that should step up, and even if not and the secondary continues to suck, we need those high picks elsewhere first.
Just so you know, Ryan Clark blew the play against Baltimore and admitted as much. He was late getting over and cut his angle short and actually ended up cutting off Gay from being able to make any kind of play on the ball. Gay was suppossed to be in a trailing position with Clark having the coverage over the top. You can go watch it again on youtube.

There was also an obvious push off by torrey smith that was not called.

I think Gay did great this year and it would be a shame to lose the guy. Corners in the 3/4 D don't get much love or wiggle room. You don't notice them until they blow a coverage or get a PI called against them. Gay did awesome in that roll he gave up very few big plays this year which all corners do a few times a year.

He did his job in our D schemes perfect. He was never burned or blown out of games. He made some really great plays this year too.

He played as good as any other #2 corner we could get would. I think he was a big reason for our defensive improvement against the pass.

Definitely. He'll get better next year I do believe. He was inconsistent at times, but look at Troy Polamalu. Couldn't get hot all year

anything can happen to any secondary against any good WRs/Tight Ends

Our secondary got Tebowed

The #31whatever ranked defense in the league stepped up and played well enough all the ways to the Super Bowl (Patriots) Many consider the Giants secondary to be weak so it just goes to show you what stats mean

The supposed game changers of Green Bay's secondary got exposed as a liability whereas last year they were the biggest asset outside of Rodgers and the WRs.

Keeping or losing Gay is not going to make or break the team. Red zone efficiency, turnovers and protection for Ben are paramount

I'd be more worried about the lines as well, and honestly - the ILBs are a major concern over this IMHO
