It's been a rough few months for former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Joey Porter.
In December, Porter was jailed after being charged with writing bad checks in Las Vegas. According to reports, Porter was released after paying a $70,000 debt to the Hard Rock Casino. Now comes a report from the South Florida Business Journal that Porter is facing foreclosure on his home in Southwest Ranches, an unincorporated area in Broward County, Fla., near Fort Lauderdale. The Business Journal reported that 1st United Bank filed for foreclosure earlier this month. Porter reportedly purchased the 10,600-square-foot home, with 2.3 acres of property, for $4 million in 2007. Porter, 35, retired from the NFL last summer after a 13-year NFL career that also included stops with the Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals. He was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, three times while playing for the Steelers and once while with the Dolphins. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/report-...6146--nfl.html

I allways liked Porter while he was here in Pittsburgh. He was a no nonsence type of guy and allways stood up for his guys. With that being said, it never seems to amaze me when these guys go bankrupt after making multi million dollar contracts. I just dont understand it.

Smart investments always pay off....I cant understand why these multi million dollar athletes dont invest in their futures... Us poor people could teach them a thing or two!
