I don't think it's all about "HOW MANY TIMES WE ARE GOING TO RUN THE BALL!!!!!!!!!" but the process of being highly successful in situational football when we NEED to.

exactly. use the running game to open up the passing game and then to close games out. Don't set up 3 and longs every down, convert short distance downs, and keep the defense off balance.

The one thing that killed us a season ago was getting behind the down and distance on first down, putting us in 2nd and 12's; 15's and eventually, 3rd and longs. IMHO, we NEED to get better on first down and shuffle our deck early and often and the run game setting up the pass will be key for 2nd down. Anxious to see this playbook open up!

I definitely agree. Penalties also killed us.

I'm one to believe in the opposite. Throw the ball to set up the ruin. We're too good at throwing the ball to need it to be "set up by the running game"

that's a good point, either way, I'll be happy as long as the other defense is kept off balance and our O-line can control the line of scrimmage.

And really run or pass , the play can't get blown up in the back field within milliseconds . And positive plays can't get called back regularly due to holding penalties and such.

Ad nauseam , the Line holds our fate. Will they gel ? Or rot in hell ? That is the question.
I'll be watchin with one eye open ! I think they can pull it together this season but it will be a challenge and it will take time. Gotta hold on tight till Heath and Bell are back. I believe that's when you'll see the true identity of this offense.
(Assuming the Line stays healthy and gels. )
