I still don't care much for the idea of Worilds starting and Woodley coming out other then for a quick breather.
woodley actually is pretty good in coverage. i believe a couple of years he led the NFL in tackles for losses, which imo, is just as good as a sack. It's still a net loss for the opposing offense even if it's not a number in the sack column

He must be "special" in coverage if LeBeau puts him above every other OLB he's had in coverage. I agree that TFL's are just as good, and I think that even though he was injured he would have had more of them if not for being in coverage all the time. I'm not too worried about injuries this year either, everybody seems to be in better shape, we obviously have a better training staff, and we're due a good year. As long as we stay healthy all those chumps that are knocking us for a bad preseason will be eating there words towards the end of the year.

Sure they would. Woodleya a great player when he tries. He just let that paycheck go to his head and thighs. Hopefully the excitement wore off and he gets back to business for the rest of his career.

I think it's pretty simple. Woodley healthy is a vital member of the defense. Hopefully he's in better shape this year and ready for the long haul. He is the senior outside linebacker now that Harrison is in Cincy. I like him and think him a good talent but the fact is him being in shape is key.

One season, the "committee" awarded him one "real" sack out of twelve. The rest were deemed to be "dong sacks."

My point then (& now) has always been: did the QB get tackled without throwing the ball? Yes... then, what's the problem?

Of course, I also got banned for celebrating XLIII.

A motivated Woodley is good for the team.

I like how Woodley sees himself as some kind of authority on making plays across a 16 game time span when he just had a completely underwhelming season last year and was obviously over weight and out of shape. I'll believe it when I see it Woodley, no more excuses, get out and do your job then you can at least think about worrying about how other guys do theirs.
