I got more out of Talking Dead this week than the Walking Dead. Next week looks like it'll be intense (and they stated as such on TD).

I feel like the first episode in every season has been a little disappointing, but the season ramps up by the second or third episode.

AMC's 'The Walking Dead' Premiere Sets Ratings Records

Sunday’s season premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead, picked up right where it left off, demolishing its own record as the most-watched cable show ever, and topping strong network shows in the battle for a key demographic.

The season four premiere attracted 16.1 million viewers, a huge leap over the 12.4 million attracted by last year’s season three finale.

Even more impressive were the demographics underlying those, um, monster ratings. A total of 10.4 million viewers in the coveted 18 to 49 year old demographic was the highest by any show this season, up from 8.1 million for the season finale.

With a rating of 8.2, The Walking Dead was the most popular show in this key demographic so far this season, topping an episode of The Big Bang Theory. It also topped the 7.2 rating of Sunday Night Football among viewers in that age range. NFL games routinely top scripted programming in this demographic.

Except the first season. THAT episode was awesome. Been thinking about watching it again on Netflix.

I still think the very first 2 episodes are the best in the series.

I enjoyed the start of the new season. The zombie action and makeup was top notch, and got me straight back into the show.

I had a feeling infection was going to take place this season. It's one of those inevitable things that's going to happen once modern medicine is gone and lots of people hole up together. Especially in an area that is probably infested with rats. It's possible the governor set the infection loose in there (it would be the perfect way to dwindle numbers), but some people are going to be naturally immune (just as some people were with all plagues). Wouldn't be that hard to break into the CDC and steal some deadly virus though and let a couple of infected rats onto a farm. Works every time lol. It'll be interesting to see how they deal with this.

Right, right...well, you have to figure there are other medical research labs and stuff that have viruses on hand as well. It could be a natural outbreak too...rats, mosquitos, and stagnant water are good for that.

Or it could be a new strain of the zombie virus that just flat out kills you.

Viruses and plagues scare the bejeezus out of me.

Well now we know it wasn't from them eating the infected animals or drinking the water. It's a flu-type outbreak.

so, now we have 1) a murder mystery with the burned bodies

2) and someone keeps feeding the walkers rats at the fence - the little girls or the same one killing the infected?
