Default Re: Vinatieri Out?

It takes more than a kicker to lead a post-season "charge" to the SB

Of course it does. It takes an entire team working together and peaking at the right time.

It also takes a coach who is able to win a Super Bowl. And the simple fact is that Dungy couldn't get it done in Tampa and I really don't think he'll get it done in Indy either.

Maybe. But the big difference I see is that Dungy left the year before Tampa tore through the NFL and crushed Oakland in the Super Bowl with what was basically the same team he had the year before. The biggest difference was Gruden.

I think Cowher has always gotten the absolute best from his teams whereas Dungy has gotten 90%, and 90% ain't gonna get it done.

Why dont these coaches try and be a little more open about these things?

Glad I dont have him on my FF anyways.

I dont see what the problem with Vanderjagt is really, I think he'll be fine.

Its seems reasonable to assume that Adam will not be rushed back for the start of the season.
nice thread. dont tell me you would take a rookie kicker over vinatieri for your fantasy team? i was torn between the veterans wilkins and akers. went with akers. looks like vinatieri's still got it on grass. just too bad the odds of seeing him back in the razor come playoff time are slim. he'll probably be on turf until the afcc game in the burgh.
