This.. I'm sick of it. The only excitement at this point is trying to figure out how long it will take them to send Dan packing.

The Penguins are the Atlanta Braves of the NHL - one championship and a legacy of unfulfilled potential

Bylsma is gone - I think lots of heads will roll - only Crosby is safe

I know it's tough for any team to win a single Stanley Cup.

I know we as fans should be happy that our team won one at all (in fact, we as fans should be happy that the Pens didn't high tail it to KC).

But then you see teams like Boston and Chicago make multiple Cup Finals and remember that Crosby, Malkin and Fluery are all top-3 picks (and dual Hart recipients) and it boggles the mind.

The only way this gets worse is if Montreal beats Boston.

And Crosby needs a foot broken off in his ass himself.

Malkin should be safe. He did way more than Crosby in the playoffs. I'm about ready for Fleury and Crosby to go out of that door though.

Your comparison to the Braves is completely accurate too. What good is dominating in the regular season when you fall apart in the playoffs?

Agreed Malkin played far better than Crosby. But Crosby is untouchable and keeping that much money tied up in 2 players clearly creates depth issues.

Another question is whether Shero is in peril.

At some point the fan enthusiasm flames out, just as it did with the Braves in Atlanta after all the postseason crashes. That has to concern the owners who want to fill the seats (they presumably see how that went for the Steelers in 2013) and may be further motivation to take some big actions.

Crosby got manhandled in both series and no one seemed to step in and take action. We need some bruisers. I think that not having Orpik contributed some to the woes. I don't think that we ever found out what was wrong with him. He was in there a bit for a game but then came back out. Letang was finally returning to old form. I have no issue with Martin or Niskanen.

I hang a lot of this on Bylsma and Shero. I won't be surprised if they are both gone by this time next week. Shero has pulled off some amazing deals in the past few years, but none of them have gotten us back into the Finals. I like Bylsma, but he doesn't seem to make the proper adjustments.
