Nope. Coaching staff to be evaluated by new GM.

Geeze Louise, what a mess.

Lots of talk of MAF being moved.

Rangers up 7-1 over the Habs.

Love it.

I think he's the main reason of the underachievement. This team is not physical enough. It's the opposite of the Steelers football. It works in regular season, but won't work in playoff.

Blues signed Brian Elliot to an extension which means Ryan Miller is going to be a free agent. Miller makes a lot of sense for the Penguins who desperately need goaltending help.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Miller ended up with the Penguins.

They don't have the cap room, do they?

Minnesota makes more sense.

They can afford two big FAs and Vanek (U Minn alum) and Miller ('elite' goalie) will be out there.

Wild have too much tied up in Parise and Sutter to even think about outside goaltending help, especially if he's going to command 6.5+.

According to CapGeek, MIN has over $22M in cap space to PIT's ~$16.

The Wild also have more players under contract (17) than the Pens (14).

Assuming the Pens keep Orpik, that $16M dips to around $12-13.

MIN has the space to sign Vanek and Miller, even at $6-7M each. Their Cup window is now. They need a goalie and a winger to pair with Parise.

Also important, the Wild currently have a projected $35M in cap space next year and beyond.

If the Wild want to make a Cup run one of the next three years it makes sense to sign both or either Vanek and Miller.

Some more reasons why Miller to PIT makes little sense:

1. Miller is four years older than MAF.
2. MAF has only one year left on his deal.
3. Miller just lost in the first round with one of the better Ds in the NHL in front of him. Who's to say he's 'better'.
4. Miller's teams have never made a SCF.

Why trade a younger G and then sign an older, arguably not superior, one who will kill cap space for even longer than your current option?

It would be better for the Pens to try and sign Marty Broduer for a couple of years (at a 'discount') as an overqualified backup and to impart wisdom upon MAF.
