is max in shape?

he's spent 3 weeks on the couch now and has probably ballooned up to 390 lbs.

everybody wants to poo-poo his time with the chargers and rams, but the simple fact of the matter is, he couldnt even stick on their quad as a back up.

its not because he is too dumb to learn the playbook. he is smart as hell.

its because he is out of shape and his heart is no longer in it. the fight has left the dog.

we passed on max to reach for arizona's damaged goods. that tells me all i need to know.

No team is more unlucky when it comes to the offensive line. There is probably a curse on the whole line.

They need to stop eating at Jamaican restaurants and send Levi back. Wrap him up express post and send him back.

This trade must be nullified.

we need someone who can replace beachum as primary back up at guard and tackle.

being that we still have adams, and foster is able to play, we are right back to square one when the season started (with exception of our #1 back up at all positions now thrust into the starters LT role).

if beachum gets hurt, adams goes back to LT. if foster gets hurt i guess beachum could replace him there giving adams the LT job back. if velasco gets hurt, i think we have no coice but to put adams in and slide beachum over to center.

our 7th round pick from last season has now evolved to our most important lineman.

Pat Kirwan has talked about this endlessly since his trip up to latrobe for friday night lights.

we didnt give up anything in the trade. it basically is nullified, as he really was just a street free agent pick up who was picked up before he actually hit the streets.

Here is the positive: you could make the case that the trade was not to actually acquire Brown's services, but rather to alert Adams how much he has sucked and light a fire under him. Now that Adams has sat a game, he can spend the next few games as a backup, and then, someday, reach his full potential.

True, but if we called Max a few weeks ago (when we should have) he would probably have been in less of a bargaining position than he might be now that we actually NEED him.

(Jeez, this is like watching Congress)

Still don't see why Gilbert isn't getting a shot at LT. He was slated to start there and allegedly, Adams beat him out in camp (yet Gilbert is not the one who is benched). No one on the Steelers is even mentioning that (why or why not). Obviously they're in the know and I'm not but I'm curious to know myself.

LT - Gilbert
LG - Beachum
C - Velasco
RG - DeCastro
RT - Foster

I would love to see what that looked like in a game. Or, swap Foster and Beachum (more likely), but I still say Beachum is a guard and Foster is a built like a tackle. Heck, give Adams another shot at RT and then you have your big set TE back in Beachum.

I dunno.

max has absolutely no barganing power other than the CBA vet minimum. if a washed up, out of shape player tries to hold a gun to the steelers head, they will tell him to go pound sand and scour the practice squad rosters.

we dont NEED starks. it would be up to starks to stay in shape and decide if he NEEDED a paycheck.

the proof is in the pudding that he is pretty happy on his couch.

.
gilbert admitted as much during the bye, that at this point, he would be more comfortable staying on the right side where he has started to settle in.

He'll do what he's fucking told!

His thought process: "Damn, that LT spot is drawing quite the negative attention. And no one seems to be talking about me over here....no brainer." haha
