Default Ryan Clark Spouts Off On Non-Steelers Issues

Ryan Clark continues to prepare for his life's work of getting a job at ESPN and in the process probably pisses off Brady

Ryan Clark: Bryant criticism 'unfair'

Ryan Clark fired back at those who have bashed Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant for his sideline theatrics last Sunday and said such criticism reflects a double standard in the NFL.

"I've seen Tom Brady cuss and scream and do all kind of things but nobody looks at him like that," the outspoken Pittsburgh Steelers safety said Wednesday. "I just think it's unfair the way we see it and the way the media portrays certain things because of personal feelings about a person."

Clark said he saw nothing wrong with what Bryant did even though cameras showed him having heated discussions on the sideline with several teammates, including tight end Jason Witten. Bryant's actions overshadowed a spectacular touchdown catch he made in the Cowboys' 31-30 loss to the Detroit Lions....

Clark didn't find fault with another topic that has driven NFL discussion this week: the message that Brandon Meriweather sent when he said he would target receivers' knees after serving a one-game suspension....

"But what he's saying is extremely true or has a lot of fact to in the sense that the one place we know we can hit guys and you won't get fined is extremely low.

"What he says makes a lot of sense to me. You just wish he was in a better position emotionally to where people can really understand it and really know that he's only saying he's trying to be as safe as possible as far as not getting fined, not getting suspended, not getting penalized."

Clark's team is 2-5 and his personal performance is below the standard - maybe he should just talk about getting better

WTF is he doing discussing general topics around the league for any reason other than continuing to campaign for a job with ESPN by getting name recognition?

I wish Tomlin would agree that Clark is clearly looking for his next gig and help him spend more time for that by starting Shamarko while giving Clark a seat on the bench

Clark has been a fine safety (past tense) but his sell by date has expired

Clark has been a really really good safety in my opinion. There have been games where he was our best defensive player on the field.

I don't have a problem with him commenting on things like he has, but would prefer he hadn't. He has a point though that QB's are usually considered the leaders of the their offense and WR's are considered to be temperamental whiney pusses. It does seem like a double standard.

Did he really have to bring up Tom Brady this week?

STFU, Clark, and focus on the task at hand.

Totally agree with Ryan Clark's opinion, but I also think he's at the end of his career. His focus is not entirely on football. He's looking forward to his future. I wouldn't have a problem with that if he was riding the pine, but he's playing meaningful snaps and I think all this TV stuff is a distraction. I love Ryan Clark, I have an autographed Ryan Clark jersey. He's one of my all time favorite Steelers. Watching him flat out destroy receivers with bone crunching big hits has been an absolute pleasure but I think it's time to just give Shamarko Thomas the snaps and let Clark ride out the rest of the season as a backup. His play has been lackluster and I'd like to see Shamarko Thomas develop.

Ryan Clark is merely prepping for his next career as a tv commentator, this is his last year as a Steeler.

Does it get annoying to anyone else that the only NFL player Ryan Clark seems to refuse to defend is Ben Roethlisberger?
