Bring on the cavalry of secondary support. At this point, I'm jumping on the Telvin Smith in the third bandwagon. If we're really up for simulating a similar cast that the Seahawks have built themselves, Dennard and Telvin are two choices that jump off the page immediately.
I don't see Gilbert making it past the Giants at #12, but Dennard would be a great consolation prize.

I don't think comp picks are tradable.

Depends on if one of the Tackles falls. The Giants' offensive line rivals the one we put together in '08. While their secondary is abysmal, Lewan might be the pick for the Giants.

The Bears are who I'm worried about with Gilbert. But honestly, even if Gilbert isn't there, Dennard is a great player as well. There's a little bit of a Michigan State pipeline being built right now for the Steelers.

So I could live with this lol :

1. Dennard
2.Jordan Matthews
3. Telvin Smith / Ed Reynolds

Maaaaaan. Our defensive is upgraded almost instantaneously. While Dennard might be relegated to a Nickle/Dime role and Telvin might be a project, but capable in a couple of years to take over our SS starting position.

Those draft choices bring back the idea of a shut down defense. Jordan Matthews gives Roethlisberger a tall target and gives AB a legitimate number two receiver to play across from.

Matthews better than expected 40 time may hurt our chances though. I love his bloodlines though.

I guess I was going more with the idea that having more picks at your disposable might be better than having the #15 overall - especially if some of the guys on the fans radars are grading out higher than initially thought

I have the feeling that gilbert, dix and Dennard will be off the board at 15! Watkins and evans will also be gone! I think our choices at 15 will be nix, pryor, mosley! nt is a huge need, nix would be a great pick! is pryor a reach at 15...I don't know? mosely would really sure up the middle!

me likey that MSU defense this past year. That team had the attitude.

I think Dennard is who I want....but that usually means we wont get him

Lets just hope whoever we get, they're studs. We need playmakers just about everywhere.
