Default Re: Draft. What's our biggest need?

It's interesting that we didn't meet with Dennard at the combine. It seems like it would be due diligence to meet with both of the top Cornerback prospects.

@Galax Steeler I like Ebron, but there's a couple issues I would have with the pick, and all of them are schematic. The simple question for our scheme would be: where do you play him? In the slot? Opposite Miller at TE? Do you split him out wide and use his size as an advantage over smaller DBs? It's tough because we don't have a scheme that mirrors the Patriots in that we put a premium on the TE position. If anything, we'd have to use him how the Saints use Jimmy: slot and out wide. He creates a match up nightmare and gives Roethlisberger a huge target over the middle, down the seam or underneath but, again, where does he play?

Maybe they don't want to tip their hand. Being good friends with the MSu coach, Steelers prob know everything about Dennard.

Yep.

They loved Ed Reed. Everyone knew. And... he got stolen away.

They loved Darrelle Revis. Everyone knew. And... he got stolen away.

They loved Brandon Albert. Everyone knew. And... he got stolen away.

They loved Mike Pouncey. Everyone knew. And... he got stolen away.

Maybe they love Darqueze Dennard... but, don't want anyone else to know.

My issue exactly. Dude is a freak, but it kind of seems he would waste away on our team.

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't know what our connection with MSU is. What coach do we have a good relationship? Just wondering.

I get so (hyper) just thinking of Dennard getting drafted here. Curtis Brown better hand that #31 over.

Dennard, Shark, Bucannon, Allen= No Fly Zone

Jarvis, Big Mac, Cam, Worilds, Timmons, Vince/Spence, NT/DE??= Improved Steel Curtain

Who does everyone have as their top NT prospects in this draft?

Tomlin is good friends with the MSU head coach. Has taken multiple players to dinner. Kirk Cousins who was snatched away , Dion Simms , and Bell who we drafted last year.

Irish Chocolate is the only blue chip prospect.

Ryan Carrethers is a R4 pick. He would not be markedly better than McClendon, but for a R4 pick, that's what you get.
