I never responded to this. I read the next post (Dennard AND Bucannon), and I went a little bit crazy.

Trading down would be great, and I'm a huge proponent of trading down... but... if Dennard is the guy, it probably makes more sense to go ahead & grab him. Then again, dropping to 20 would also give the Steelers an extra R3 pick... hmmm... and, I've averred that "Fuller & another player" are better than "only Dennard."

Hmmm...

Just to clarify: DraftTek isn't the simulator; it's a computer-compiled mock. Sort of like the computer that the BCS uses to create it's rankings.

Yeah I figured that out, all I did was hit start and it made all the selections.

...yes. I don't understand why anyone would question that unless you're one of those people who already thinks Jones is a bust because he wasn't an All-Pro his rookie year. Jones was the best pass-rusher in his class who dropped because of injury concerns, and Barr would be the best by far in pretty much any other class that didn't have Clowney and Mack to push him down.

I just think that goes against how we operate. Barr is a better prospect than Dennard whether he's a bigger need or not. You have to do something with him if he's on the board, whether it's let somebody else pick him and move down, or pick him yourself and deal with the consequences. You could let Worilds play out his transition deal while Barr develops and then unleash him in 2015

I just didn't think him at 15 was possible in November / December. If he's there at 15, we have a serious decision to make.

I think he's correct that it would create a mismatch over the middle of the field, especially against Linebackers, but we don't use Tight Ends like that in our scheme. It's why I questioned the dire want for Ebron on this board - we wouldn't use him effectively. In our scheme, he's a boundary receiver who can create plays in space and get separation effectively against smaller DBs.

Also, yes, as @PhantomJB93 points out, Jarvis and Barr are both blue chip prospects. Barr has been playing OLB for two seasons and he's already flashing that potential. Give him a year to work under Porter and Butler and not have to worry about starting like Jarvis did and he's going to be a special talent in the NFL. Knocking him because he can't shed blocks effectively while not acknowledging he hasn't played Linebacker for what equates to a high school career is ludicrous.

Is this where we bitch about the May draft lengthening the doldrums of spring?

But just maybe Haley would use him as such in our no huddle attack.

He was at his pro day , I believe it was one of the few he attended.

Who knows. But flexibility and sub packages are more and more popular in today's nfl.
