NFL.com... as in: Rapoport's employer.

The nut doesn't fall far from the tree.

polamalu is just as fast and physical as ever, this season.

the steelers need to work something out. it sends a bad message if they kick his ass to the curb like trash, and i feel certain players have earned a bit of dignity (like jerome bettis).

otherwise all of our young good players are going to start looking to get out of pgh ASAP and never entertain a "hometown discount" (mike wallace, keenan lewis).

I agree.

I've always felt that part of the reason that the Steelers have been able to keep their own free agents, is because the players know that they will not be treated like crap.

I know that it is a business, but Ike is like family to the Rooneys. Ergo, Ike has stuck around (when he likely could ave gotten $1 million mor per year elsewhere).

Why would a young player stick around of they know that if they start to fade, the team will oust them at the first sign of weakness??? Because the Steelers stick by their guys (Bettis), when the younger guys do indeed re-sign, they know that it is a commitment by both parties.

Don’t be surprised by all this; the Steelers are notoriously frugal and wouldn’t pay big money for a player who they don’t believe is worth it.
Does this idiot know the CBA economics of the NFL today? Or is he stuck in 1997? Teams have to spend 90% of the cap which is around the 120 mil mark. So, what does being frugal have to do with anything? You cant be frugal in the NFL, its part of the CBA.

Rapoport is about two weeks late with this rumor

Both P-G beat reporters said the same thing after Troy may have played his worst game ever against New England

Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined The Fan Morning Show the morning after the disaster in New England....

Ed said he would not go as far as to say the defense quit on the team yesterday but they did look awful. They looked old.

Troy Polamalu fans should pay close attention to him over these next few games because this will be his last year here.

Unlike the previous stories, this one actually wouldn't surprise me.

I gotta say though, it's getting to be such a pain in the ass how this Rapoport dude has a new story about how awful we are literally every single day.

Exactly.

True or not, Rapoport's got an axe to grind.

Great.....last year it was Harrison, this year Polamalu.....I'm hoping the front orifice is a lot smarter than me, because it seems stupid to keep chucking players that give you the best shot at a championship.
