Default The Death of Brian Griffin

Thought I'd put this out there for other Family Guy fans with whom the death of a beloved character like Brian doesn't sit well. I just don't see the logic behind killing off a character that's been so important to the show. This is a an adult family comedy, not a drama like the Walking Dead. We as fans shouldn't have to worry about the writers killing off our favorite characters. Would the Simpsons writers kill off Bart, or Homer, Marge, Maggie, or Lisa? No, because it would ruin the show. Family Guy is very similar to the Simpsons in the fact that it keeps the same characters and fans have such a deep connection with the characters. Killing Brian is a mistake, and I for one just can't watch this show without Brian. The relationship between Stewie and Brian is a major factor in what makes this show so great.

This just doesn't make sense to me so I thought I'd share this petition with anyone else who would like to sign it. Let's get Brian back so Family Guy can still be the show that we've all known and loved for over a decade.

More like "The Death of Family Guy".

Based on what I've read, Brian is confirmed as being in at least THREE future episodes based on descriptions and plots. I'll just watch South Park over it anyway.

I haven't watched it regularly for years now...but I agree, this was just dumb. Does Seth Macfarlane liken himself to George R.R. Martin all of the sudden? Sucks for the regular fans. I won't be watching it, even sporadically, without Brian either.

It's been a while since Family Guy has been funny. As previously posted, this certainly seems like a "jump the shark" moment.

Oh he's coming back. They even left the door open to the idea with the whole time machine thing. Like you guys, I haven't watched the show regularly in years (it's on at the same time as Sunday Night Football so duh) but this just seems like a bad idea.

He'll be back.

Seth wants the series to die, and has for a few years.

That said, Brian will likely be back. Brian is Seth's mouthpiece for whenever Seth decides to go on his more blunt moral, political, or (anti-) religious rants. It's basically as close to his 1:1 insertion of himself into the show that he could have, so if the show is to continue with Seth's heavy involvement, Brian will return in some capacity.
