What are the chances of something as complex and amazing as the human body and mind randomly evolving from a single cell organism?
I never bought that kind of rationalization because it dodges the issue of actual proof. I've heard it expresse through various metaphors with a watch or computer, but it's still no real answer. When something is complex or amazing or hard to explain my default answer isn't that it's divine organization. At least the idea of evolution is testable and documentable, there isn't a god test out there that I know of.
Actually, if you accept the idea that there is an all knowing and powerful designer of human beings and the universe, said designer has a lot of descrepencies to explain.

I understand your mind set.

When I was 6 or 7 I actually believed that the only thing that existed was where I was and what I could see at that instant in time.

It's all good!

Absolutely, it's not my intent to deride, I think open dialogue about beliefs are great because it helps overcome some of the ugly stereotypes that exist for believers and non believers alike.

That is a heavy belief for such a small child, at that age I was too frightened about the gruesome torture stories I had been given in church to have the discourage to disbelieve what I was taught, a big reason why I'm an advocate of not threatening small children with eternal damnation.

Agreed.

I could never understand how a supposedly loving God could send people to an eternal hell fire and torment for what we did in a small period of time on earth.

The other big thing I believe is that for the most part people have the same basic qualities (both good and bad) whether they are Christians or not.

While some of the most truly kind and decent people I have ever known are Christian I also know many who are arrogant, self righteous, vindictive and judgmental....and that is unfortunately what a lot of people see and remember....

The hypocrisy.

I believe in God. I do not buy into religion. God has no religion. organized religion is the biggest Satan of all.

After the end of the Vikings game, I can confirm that there is a God.

Just kidding, the Vikings just happen to be a worse team than the Ravens.

God? Well do I?

No.

Though there are plenty of adults who do. That is their right.
