Angry Cleveland playing for better draft pick

Cleveland will have something at stake for this weeks game after all. How about getting a better pick from the Steelers in the the 3rd round. A Win for them could move that pick up a few notches 1-3 spots higher.

Either way Colbert's draft move last draft to a division rival for a potential top ten 3rd round pick is proving very costly to our team trying to rebuild. In hindsight it was quite the idiotic move by Colbert and stank of arrogance that the team was better then it really is.

Us Draft maniacs will have a hard time killing all that time from the top of the 2nd round to the bottom of the 3rd (comp pick for Wallace). In the meantime Cleveland may get a real gem of a starter with a 2nd round grade. Keenan Allen was a high 3rd rounder last draft for San Diego.

We could still be drafting at #21 or lower this year if we sneak into the playoffs, which isn't a fearsome position in R3.

By my calculations the earliest we can now mathematically draft is #10. Most likely we will beat the Browns and miss the playoffs, therefore drafting about #15 or so.

Now nobody wants to miss out on a R3 draft pick because you already spent it on a bust, but I think Shamarko is doing OK, certainly compared with most of our actual R3 picks of late.

What about the Browns though? There's a whole pack of teams down there at 4 wins. If Brownies win, then they could end up drafting as low as #9 themselves! (this is true). Lose, however, and they could draft as high as #3, giving them a chance to draft another expensive bust at QB (what they like best).

I'd say they will be finding a way to lose.
