Ben is the reason why the Offensive Line looks much better.

When Ben stopped playing like a lethargic zombie, the O-Line started to improve. Not only did we have Fernando Velasco looking great, but we have 3rd string street guy Cody Wallace looking like a competent Center too.

Why? Ben finally pulled his head out of his ass.

An Offensive Line is only as good as their Quarterback allows them to be. When Ben plays smart, the O-Line quality magically skyrockets. A Smart Quarterback makes any, ANY Offensive Line of scrubs great. David Decastro can suddenly run block. We're down to our 3rd Center and not even missing a beat.

It's comes back to #7. For that, Ben deserves kudos.

Be happy we have something to build on for next season. The arrow is pointing UP^ for a change with the way Ben has had a clean pocket.

We have alot positives to build on. Cut Woodley, trade Pouncey, draft a WR and defense with the rest of the picks.

I think we pick defense in 1st round unless somehow watkins drops to us. Though I don't see him passing the jets, we'd need to trade up to get him.

with our needs on defense though, I don't see that scenario happening.

Well nice someone has to take a shot at Ben in this thread. And yes, I think that was a shot, unless I misinterpreted "head out of his ass."

Ben needs 247 passing yards against the Browns to break his own Steelers single season passing yards record.

Remember, "smart" quarterback Drew Brees and the Saints only average 18 points a game on the road. I guess he's only "smart" at home.

Lol yeah definitely read that as a back-handed compliment. Ben wasn't really playing that poorly his first four games (63.58% completion percentage, 1,231 yards, 5 TDs, 5 INTs for an 84.2 rating). He wasn't as superb as he has been since, but I feel like he was really being asked to do more than what is reasonable. Zero takeaways by the defense resulting in bad field position, bad o-line play resulting in 15 sacks, bad play by the receivers, minimal contributions from tight ends, no running game.

Gee . I wonder if any of this is due to Tomlin not giving a shit about pre-season...

That's really fracking awesome! Hard to believe after the first half of the season.

I've seen the comment that even if we win next week we are no better off then we were this time last year (8-8, no playoffs), but I disagree. We are currently on the upswing. Lots to be excited about...for 2014 anyway. But who knows? Ain't over yet.

Hell Yeah! And we got better as the O-line improved. That's exactly what everybody on here thought.

There's no question that Ben is a great QB.
