You mentioned contracts but I'm not sure you've even got that right as he re-structured his contract 'for the team' earlier this year.

I think his team recognizes his worth, your entitled to think differently, but I don't believe your arguement holds much worth as is.
Please dont say Timmons or any player restructured for the team. That isnt how it works. They dont give money back or get less money or anything. Players love restructuring because they get more money up front. Every player would be thrilled to do that

Essentially, you're correct: all it does is move around money, giving players more money up front. ($5 million now, followed by $5 million later... versus $3 million now, followed by $7 million later.)

But, some players do indeed restructure, in order to help out the team... namely, Ike Taylor.

What ultimately happens, is these players get cut, because their final year is exorbitant, and they never really make "all" of the money in their original contract. For example:

Joe Corner original deal is 5 years $55 million: $5 million signing bonus, followed by $10 million per year.

Then, he restructures in year three: he gets a $5 million signing bonus, followed by a reduced salary of $6 million (which is actually little more money than his $10 million salary for that year: $11 million)... but, they add $5 million to the final year of his contract. He is cut after year four, because in year five, he's scheduled to make $15 million.

In turn, he only makes $46 million of his original $55 million contract.
