Optimistic overall.

Offense could be awesome with a healthy, consistent and deep O-line.

Defense needs to prune the old and ineffective and let the young players play and learn from losing battles.

A good draft leaning to the D, maybe a surprise FA signing, tweaking the schemes a bit, and tightening up the coaching miscues with regard to clock management......yeah, I'm optimistic for next season.

Bell is ready to errupt, AB's a star, Ben is Ben......improve the D and make another run.

instead of improving the D, why not improve the O even further. If the offense is great, all we'd need is an average defense and it'll be enough to get the job done. most teams won't be able to keep up

as non-traditional as that is for the steelers, i think it's our best shot to win in the next few years. The offense is just 1 or 2 pieces away from being great, and ben is playing some of his best football right now

I wish it was that easy, but great teams have great defenses. Let's see what happens in the 13 playoffs, I bet the best d-teams make it to the superbowl..

agree strongly. Not saying they need to make some big 50 million dollar free agent acquisition. But it would really help if they can make 1 or 2 Clark or barrier type: signings.

Just a couple things on offense - I'm worried about the TE position and stability at center. Can we keep a guy like Velasco and Wallace? It's like having 3 starters at 1 position plus it gives us depth for elsewhere - 1 of those guys should be a priority especially since I think Pouncey is overall finishing his career out somewhere else. Also - WR is a concern. We need a solid Cotchery like guy and less of Sanders. What do you all think of a guy like Riley Cooper - he had over 800 yards and 8 TDs this season - or, are the Eagles def going to keep him? Too much dough? He would provide some more height to at 6'3" I'm not really all for going FA on offense but I feel like they could use another veteran piece to solidify things. I would wait until round 3 or 4 to even bother with offense

Defense
I think we need to drop Woodley, keepy Worilds. Jones has potential. Heyward is obviously our next vet on defense, Woods is getting better and better.Cortez is solid #2 guy. Troy is worth having around for veteran leadership and splash play making ability alone. I think we need a solid Ryan Clark or Farrior signing. Perry Riley (LB) from Washington? Only got 4 years on the treads and very young at 25. I think this guy would be hungry to win. Same with Alterraun Verner at CB from TEN- only 4 years - had 5 ints this season. I wouldn't frown at a Pollar or Meriweather signing. - I'm always for the Steelers way in building the draft - but, we did have key signings and resignings of guys like Farrior and Clark that were critical to SB runs. I know now is tougher than before but I think they have to be a little bolder than usual to ensure the best possible chances while Ben is still around. Time to be more aggressive in FA - two solid, younger vet signings could really boost this team.

Oh yea - can we please get a solid punter too? That be nice. Shaun Saison is money though.

EDIT: Just remembered who Riley Cooper was - forget it.

Agree. It wouldn't surprise me to see a Panthers vs. Chiefs Super Bowl.

Goodell will never allow that.

A Manning HAS to be the SuperBowl every other year... or else, the curse of the were-dingo comes to fruition.

That defense gave up 600 yds in a game this year.

The defense needs to improve...
