Default Wexell: Steelers Comp Picks

Tobias Seabrook ‏@nyc2660:

@jimwexell Mr. Wexell. Will steelers receive a late 3rd Rd pick for Wallace or mid rd 3 for him. If it's late then it a early 4 rite ??

James C Wexell &#8207 @jimwexell:

end of 3rd for Wallace; end of 5th for Lewis.

comp picks are always awarded at the end of each round.

Yep.

With the 97th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers select: Shayne Skov, ILB, Stanford.

Lewis end of 5th? How do they calculate this? He was originally a 3rd and has maybe even outplayed that..

there are several things they use to determine it, I think the players current salary goes into it.

Yes thanks to Wallace's fat contract, the Steelers would likely still get a 3rd round comp pick from him even though his performance this season doesn't back it up.

Do we get one from Mendenhall leaving as well? I haven't seen any talk about his departure in free agency resulting in draft pick compensation.

I was thinking an additional 7th based on his light salary in Arizona but I think he still counts
