I have no anecdotes.

I can't stop you from worrying either.

But are your worries for the future, going down this new path, as bad as the thought of being unhappy with your job, and where you live?

Bearing in mind, we spend most of our waking lives at work.

I hope it all works out for you.

@JonM229

Anecdote: My aunt & uncle raised four kids in a one-bedroom house. Yet, they were the happiest, most close-knit family I know of. Epilogue: Two are now lawyers, one is an assistant superintendent, and the fourth is a nurse.

My father gave me career advice as a young man: "Do what you like, and you'll never have to 'work' a day in your life; the pay is a bonus." You will be doing something that you like, and also will be (eventually) getting paid for it.

Lastly, if you became a Steelers fan, it might your life a whole lot let stressful. I'm just saying...

Right now, the pros of moving are definitely outweighing the cons of staying put. The biggest hassle we're going to run into is being able to find a place that will let us bring our dogs. They both bark at absolutely everything, so we're hoping to be able to rent a house rather than an apartment. Although, we still need to sell our house, which we just had listed:

Somebody buy my house so my wife and I can move.

You would think so, but allow me to compare Steelers football to the "Happiest" countries in the world, which all happen to be in Scandinavia.

As I mentioned, Scandinavian countries tend to rank the highest in happiness. They also tend to rank very high in suicides. Why would people living in the happiest places on earth commit suicide? The answer is that due to the higher levels of happiness, the bar is then set much higher, and people who are sad or depressed feel like that is unacceptable. Sadly, many of them choose to take their own lives.

Now let's look at the Steelers, who have won more Super Bowls than any other team in the NFL. Their fans, while able to bask in the success, are also known as the most unstable when the team performs poorly. It's because the bar has been set so high, than anything other than a winning record and a playoff birth is viewed as unacceptable.

So I say "no thanks" to your invitation, I can't handle the pressure.

Day light hours would probably be a factor on Scandinavian suicide rates. Their days are about 6hrs 20mins at this time of year, and the Sun only rises to 8 degrees above the horizon.

In comparison, Pittsburgh gets about 9hrs 20 minutes and the Sun rises to about 27 degrees above the horizon.

Where I live is about smack in the middle of that 7hrs 50mins, with the Sun reaching about 15 degrees.

It is not just the hours of daylight, it is how dusky the daylight is.

Seasonal Affective Disorder is a known problem here. I'd imagine it would be more acute in Sweden.
