Default Something I haven't seen mentioned yet...

...is that Ben played all 16 games this season for only the second time in his career.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm going to take that as a testament to the fact that Todd Haley's system has accomplished what it was implemented to do (keep him healthy) and that the OLine does not need as much work as many seem to think.

I think it's Todd's system as well as the spectacular play of David DeCastro, and the great play of Ramon Foster and Kelvin Beachum. A LT that can actually pass block efficiently - who'dathunkit.

Next year if you guys keep Ben healthy you are going to shred your division to pieces. No question. 13-3 or better.

I see 10-6, provided the offense stays relatively healthy. The defense is going to cost the Steelers some games next season because the secondary is going to be very different. With that said, I think the offense will be able to carry the defense more often than not.

that absolutely was the end game when they hired Haley. I really was in favor of hiring him. He had a lot of success doing different things at Dallas Arizona and Kansas City offensively.

it took longer then probably anyone expected. I think the plan had been to run with power a lot more. It took a season and a half but Haley and Ben found their middle ground. Ben started to get rid of the ball quicker but got to make more calls on the field and throw more. Again the end game being his not getting beat up to hell.

also the offense of line had a near miraculous turn around. It cannot be over stated just how god awful they were at the start of the season. It was a prettyincredible turn around with pass protection. And the run game started to come around the last few games.

I will admit I did give up on Haley mid season. But the last half of the season was a good indication of the kind of offensive coordinator he can be. Really anxious to see how things look next year.

I honestly think (and there has been some media reports to this effect), that the early-season injury to Pouncey set the Steelers back more than we think. I do believe they planned on implementing the no-huddle much earlier in the season-- but having to bring in a new center off the street means that we are back to sqaure one, as far as the overall Oline's familiarity with the playbook.

You can't run a no-huddle, unless all 11 guys on offense are on the same page.

As the season wore on-- Haley (and Ben) were able to implement what was intended for much earlier in the 2013 season.
