That being - the Colts' "D" during the 2nd half was phenomenal, almost to the end. KC faced 3-and-outs for almost the entire 2nd half. + turnovers also created by Colts' "D".
It was the Colts' "D" that kept putting the Colts' "O" back in action. -which is what a great "defense" is supposed to do, whithout which, the Colts' could NOT have won.
In fact, "Mathis" was the huge momentum shifter for the Colts', as far as I was concerned.

But for KC, you're right, their "defense was dead" , in the latter half of that game.
Good points.

And to be fair, any game played in a dome should see a fair amount of offense.

It is strange days indeed though when a playoff game between two of the supposed 'best teams in the league' combines for a whopping 99 points[, sees a team come from 28 down and the winning QB is outperformed by the opposition].

Even in the epic BUF/HOU game the final score was 41-38.

I suppose such things will happen every decade or so though.

I had no grudge against the chiefs for sitting their starters so I don't really take any joy in their loss, but I enjoyed seeing that unbelievable comevack.

On the point of the argument about to rest starters or not to rest them, I think Reid was vindicated when Jamal Charles went down early with a concussion, something like that could have easily happened in the meaningless week 17 game. Additionally the chiefs didn't look rusty at all, if anything they did exactly what they did the second half of the season. Their offense wasn't bad, but since week 8 or so their defense hasn't been very good.

Either way the NFL gets a narrative it would kill for.

SD @ DEN: 'Manning vs. his Kryptonite'

IND @ DEN: 'Manning vs. his old team/'the next Manning'

And, of course, NE @ DEN would be a dream scenario for them as well.

The only non-marketable matchup (for DEN) would be CIN @ DEN.

Even IND @ NE ('transferring of the guard of the Colts-Pats rivalry') or SD @ NE ('SD=Cinderella') in the AFCCG are more marketable than CIN @ DEN.
